Building Community Resilience:
Washington State

The Washington BCR network is comprised of four regional collaboratives, including Generations Forward (Whatcom County), Resilient Pierce County (Pierce County), the Ttáwaxt Birth Justice Collaborative (the Yakama Nation), and Byrd Barr Place/El Centro De La Raza (King County).

These networks are funded by Washington State's Department of Social and Health Services and the Kresge Foundation as part of the Next Generation Initiative (NextGen). NextGen is designed to support organizations which go beyond traditional human service delivery methods and move toward new ways to create permanent pathways out of poverty.

The WA BCR network and collaboratives are currently using the BCR process to create person-centered, outcome-based, data-driven work that advances racial equity using two-generation, whole family approaches.
